Sunday School for Children and Youth
| Special Events Sundays
| | About once a month, the Sunday School Supervisory Team (SSST) organizes a "special event" to mix up the regular classroom routine o and get kids and teachers connected to the wider Sunday School community. A chance for everyone to be active and play together cooperatively. Everyone is welcomed, and everyone is reminded to dress casually and comfortably.
| Spotlighting Ongoing Ministries: Cradle Roll
| | Unless you have a very young child living in your household, you may not be aware of the tender ministry of our church known as the Cradle Roll. For about a year now. Sue Burcaw has managed the work of Cradle Roll, and before that. Sandy Gribben capably filled the volunteer position for many years. The goal of this primarily mail-based project is to establish and keep up a connection between EHMC and the parents of infants and pre-schoolers.
| | On a regular basis. Sue sends to parents encouraging materials-materials that teach about children's physical, mental, emotional and spiritual development. One important topic that gets introduced early on through these mailings is baptism. As Cradle Roll children approach the age when it is appropriate for them to engage in Sunday School, the mailings help prepare families for that particular milestone. Sue also does a wonderful job of welcoming new babies by sending greeting cards when wee ones are born and also when they are baptized.
| | Recently, the Board of Christian Education reviewed Cradle Roll materials and made a change. Beginning immediately, new babies and their parents will receive dynamic newsletters from the collection called Splash! These "parent pages" are set to arrive monthly from birth through age 3.
