East Hills Moravian Church was the site for the May Friendship Day
sponsored by Church Women United, and held on Friday, May 7, 2010.
The event was attended by twenty-five women from a variety of local
churches. In the service of Living the Vision we shared in prayer
and celebration ways to build our faith and share it with others.
I wish to thank our ladies for helping with the coffee hour and
the 11:00 refreshment hour. Everyone enjoyed their time with us.
In our May Fellowship meetings, the Moravian Women voted
to give $100 to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund.
Both circles of Moravian Women will gather on
Tuesday, June 1, 6p.m. in the Family Center for a covered dish meal
together to end the year. All women of the church are most welcome.
If you plan to come or bring a dish, please let Janet Droney know.
Our monthly meetings will begin again in September.
Something to ponder over the summer:
June 23-26, 2011 - the 11th Moravian Women's Conference to be held
in Concord, North Carolina at the Embassy Suites Resort.
Featured speakers:
- Liz Curtis Higgs, a well-known author and speaker.
- The Rev. Peg Chemberlin, a Moravian clergywoman currently serving
as president of the National Council of Churches, and
- Angelene Swart, president of the Moravian Unity in South Africa,
and past president of the Unity Board.
Check out the website at www.moravianwomensconference.org for more details.
Have a great summer!
