Adult Fellowship is taking a trip to the Penn and Mütter Museums in
    Philadelphia.

The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology – commonly called Penn Museum – is an archaeology and anthropology museum that is part of the University of Pennsylvania (www.penn.museum). It houses one of the world’s greatest collections of ancient artifacts from around the world. The Penn Museum illustrates the human story: who we are and where we came from. The Mütter Museum (muttermuseum.org) has a unique collection of specimens and objects that reflect the human history of anatomy and medicine. The collection ranges from seventh century BCE to 2014 and contains a collection of medical oddities, anatomical and pathological specimens –one of which is Einstein’s brain – wax models, and antique medical equipment.

We will be using public transportation, so no one must drive in Philadelphia. There will be guided tours at each museum and a catered lunch at the Penn Museum. Details and costs will follow later. Check out the websites listed above for information on each museum. Reservations will be due by the end of October. Talk with Eileen Mera (610-868-9121) or Phyllis and John Kulp (phylliskulp@hotmail.com or 610-737-7166) to make a reservation or get more information.

All are welcome to join the book club to discuss The Book that Matters Most by Ann Hood. About the book: an enthralling novel about love, loss, secrets, friendship, and the healing power of literature. Although a date has not been chosen for March, the book club will discuss Colson Whitehead's Pulitzer Prize winning, The Underground Railroad, a magnificent tour de force chronicling a young slave's adventures as she makes a desperate bid for freedom in the antebellum South. Contact Amy Frantz Gross, bartlet4pres@yahoo.com with any questions.
